Doing all the side quests to earn NCR fame really expanded the amount of hours i put into the game and i think it was better that way. its just so cheap to go kill a ranger and in my opinion shortens the lifetime of the game. HOWEVER i personally like to do everything like i would do it in real life. ***ALTERNATE WAY OF GETTING ARMOR*** So someone in the comments said 'why not just kill a ranger?' and take his armor and what not, and yes you could do that if you don't care about role-playing or getting infamy with the NCR.
